-
- Note: This file describes how to get around the bug in Tabby 3.0 that
- prevents you from typing in a Zone number greater than 9 as your Primary
- Node address.
-
- By SpiritWalker MatrixNet Node: 8:8000/0
-
- Step 1: Go through your entire set-up procedure if you haven't yet.
- When you get to Primary Node Address (herafter called 'PNA'),
- Type in your node address just as normal. Lets pretend that your
- node address on Matrix is 920:6200/0. Click on OK. Go back
- to PNA. Uh oh! What happend? Instead of your Zone being 920
- (or 921 if you're in Europe), its now 9! What to do?
- Step 2: Quit out of Tabby Maint, and open the 'Tabby Config' file which is
- in the Tabby folder with Teach Text or your word processor.
- You will see your PNA there,
- except it will be 9:6200/0. Now, just change the 9 to a 920
- (or 921 if you're in Europe). Now, save your changes, launch
- Tabby Maint again, and check your PNA. It should now read correctly.
- To get out of the PNA dialog box, click CANCEL. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
- If you click on OK, it will go back to zone 9 again. Now, just to make
- sure, open Tabby Config again with your word processor or Teach Text.
- It should still be 920, not 9. Now, if you ever need to change your
- PNA, use the word processor or Teach Text. You can also add AKA's this
- way, just type a carrage return after each AKA entry.
-
- Note: You can use a variation of the above to get around the other bug in
- Tabby 3.0 that prevents you from setting your DTE rate to anything
- above 19200. Instead of opening Tabby Config, open Tabby SetUp (also
- in the Tabby folder). You will see on the 3rd line a number, like 19200L.
- Just change this to either 38200L or 57600L (the L stands for Lock Rate)
- The only difference is, NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANSES open the
- Configuration dialoge in Tabby Maint. If you do need to, just go
- change the value in the Tabby SetUp file again.
-
- WHY THIS WORKS:
- All Tabby Maint does is create text files. In reality, you really don't
- need to use Tabby Maint for anything (well, maybe a few things), since
- everything you set in it is saved as a text file. When the other Tabby
- apps are started up, all they do is check the settings in the Tabby
- folder. They could care less if Tabby Maint created them or Teach Text
- did.
